Localized Outage Troubleshooting

If your local area (i.e. groups of neighboring rooms) is experiencing continued issues with CadetNet, it is likely that there is an issue with the Access Point servicing your area.  Try the following troubleshooting steps:


  1. Check the nearest CadetNet access point to ensure it is powered on and functional
    1. Access Point reference guide
  2. If the access point is not working, check the cable connecting it to the switch to ensure that the cable is properly crimped
    1. Ethernet cable reference guide

If neither of these steps resolve the issue, check whether the issue is widespread across an entire area (not just a single access point).  If the entire living area (i.e. squadron) is experiencing issues, follow the Area Outage Troubleshooting checklist.
